Leaders in Higher Education Safety!

Home of the "Affordable Conference!"

This annual conference provides over 30 educational workshops, presented by the nation’s leading fire safety, security and risk management professionals. This is the only international conference focusing exclusively on Campus Fire Safety, Security, & Risk Management. Most of the educational facilities in this country are small colleges & universities. Greek representatives, and k-12 school district staff wear  “many hats” . We focus this annual event on bringing you as much education and training related to all of these areas so you can receive the “best value for your training dollar”.

This is a truly international conference. In March 2011; we hosted just under 200 people from from thirty six (36) states and four (4) countries.

The purpose of this annual event is to provide high-quality education, technology and networking opportunities for campus fire safety and other related responsibilities. Our multiple day, multiple track format offers a self-directed, facilitated learning environment with education sessions, interactive forums, and extensive vendor & technology exhibition.

Special - State of Ohio Campus Meeting with the Ohio Board of Regents. This two hour event will provide an opportunity for Colleges, Universities and Campuses of Ohio get together to discuss those issues affecting their campus. Meet campus safety professions from around the State and develop networking relationships 'right next door'. Members of the fire service with colleges and Universities are encouraged to attend as well. Meet State Fire Marshal Larry Flowers and other Key officials.....

Two
of the topics of discussion will be significant changes to the 2011 Ohio Fire Code (which just went into affect), and a proposal to provide all of the institutions of higher education and public & private school districts; training and education on the "Ohio Fire Code" and "Fire Code inspection principles and techniques" at an affordable price.

Lawrence Labbe, Fire Marshal,  Georgia Tech

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM A US DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AUDIT OF YOUR FEDERAL FIRE SAFETY REPORTING COMPLIANCE
 - A Personal Experience -

Mr. Labbe was placed into a position most of us have not been in, but could be at anytime in the future. Anyone of us could very easily be on the receiving end of this "knock on the door".

After being hired by Georgia Tech in September 2010, Larry had to submit the 2010 Right To Know report. Ironically, the following year Georgia Tech was selected for a random audit by both the FBI and DOE. From this experience, your speaker will share the planning, preparation and the actual audit events with you. There are many ways to be selected to receive an audit, hopefully this session will better prepare you for that possibility....see more about Larry and The Higher Education Act above in our Keynote link....

Over the past several years, effective communication with the    campus community in emergency situations has become increasingly challenging.  Fueled by a continuous stream of; tragic events, natural disasters, and acts of violence committed by individuals, mandated requirements, public expectations and organizational liability continue to grow.  In this session, emergency management practitioners will receive an update on the topics of Mass Notification and Emergency Communications. We will cover the forces that are driving activity, and will report on current and anticipated requirements of the Clery Act (HEOA), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and national standards for public alerting. -
Please see more info in the program description on the conference scheduling page.

The 2012 Mass Notification Panel will consist of representatives from the following organizations:

Are you a small Fire Department with the response area covering a College or University?

Do you rely on students as part of your Fire/Rescue response?

If you can answer yes to one of more of these questions, then plan on attending this ground breaking event.
